Bound for Springtime in Nara. For a photographic exhibition
The cosmological teachings of Taoism say there is a season for each of the cardinal directions.
The season for East is spring.
When viewed from Heijō-kyō, the ancient imperial palace of Japan,"spring" is direction of the eastern region of Nara City.
If we think like this, "bound for the East" can also be phrased as "Bound for springtime."
The photographer was Mina Tabuchi.Ms.
Ms.Tabuchi' s concept for the ptoto exhibition is "God of Spring."
God sounds far away if you listen, but if you look at photographs, if you go to the eastern region, you can meet God. She makes us think like that.
Travel can be divided into two types.
Travel where you understand what kind of place you are visiting.
Travel where you don't understand what kind of place you are visiting.
Travel to the eastern region is probably the latter.
If you view this exhibition, and understand "what kind of place is the eastern region," travel after that will match your answers.
Or maybe, instead of that, the God of spring will be there. I feel something.
If you can think like that, it might be enough reason for "bound for springtime."
Decide one destination. After that, the God of spring will guide you.
These are the photographs of Ms. Tabuchi, who can imagine things like that.
